Lisa and I went to a wonderful customer's lake house today on a delivery. The small town of Hartwell, Georgia was so awesome. The lake is gorgeous. We found the best place for a late lunch. 329 Bar & Grill 126 W. Franklin Hartwell ga is so great, the food and service was amazing, Julia was an angel. Trust me, on your drive from Charlotte to Atlanta, get off the Interstate 20 minutes and go there..!

Recently, we had a wonderful lady and her husband come in our store and we built them some amazing custom furniture, I really love this couple. She brought in her parents and they were just special people, Mom is precious, you could tell immediately. Her dad, Dr. Frank Machovec is such a wonderful conversation, very smart and worldly man. We built him a custom Hemingway chair that he loves. The more I talked to him or I should say, listened to him the more I was intrigued. I say listened to him, not due to him over talking. Just simply I've learned through my years of meeting wonderful people, when someone is exceptionally smart, we are better served to shut our mouths and absorb. I learned he had a 20 year officer career in the US Air Force serving the last 4 years assigned to an office in the Pentagon. Here's the amazing part, so many people after an illustrious career, retire as they have earned. But Frank who holds a doctorate in Economics decided to embark on a new career, starting 32 years as an economics professor at Wofford College, amazing. I have this investigative side of me that I want to know more about people I meet, what makes them tick. I read up on Dr. Frank and saw he wrote a book on Economics 30 years ago, still in print. Well, our home library is full of books written by and signed by a lot of friends and writers that we admire. I had to have his book, found one on Ebay and arranged a meeting to have it inscribed. It's a college reference book on economics for doctorate students and it's full of incredible information. I'm a self proclaimed "dumbest guy in the room" so I have to read it in sessions, haha. I suggest you do two things, check out Dr. Frank's website, read up on him and try not to feel inferior in your own life's journey and then keep your eyes open to unsuspecting people you cross paths with. Get to know them, there are some amazing people in our world.
