So if you were salaried, but made less then about 47K, but more than 23K, the new change to the FLSA law would have now entitled you to overtime pay for all hours worked over 40 hours a week. This change was supposed to start in two weeks. Now the house just passed a bill to stall this increase due to go into effect in two weeks. When the President refuses to sign the bill, the result is called a veto. Congress can try to overrule a veto. To do this, both the Senate and the House must vote to overrule the President's veto by a two-thirds majority. If that happens, the President's veto is overruled and the bill becomes a law. Talk to your HR if you are in the 23-47K range and you are not a doctor, lawyer, or teacher, but tend to work more than 40hours a week and are currently salaried. Start logging your hours, but then again, it may just be reversed now... . http://thehill.com/blogs/floor-action/house/298425-house-votes-to-delay-obamas-overtime-rule
