There’s a lot of internet chatter about sinks in islands being “dated.” We get it, and personally, we love a sink under a window. But let me de-influence you: sink placement should be about your lifestyle, your daily routines, and the actual people living in your home, not arbitrary all-or-nothing design advice.

Because when you’re saying “what?” 100 times a day with your back turned to everyone while you’re at the sink, you may wish you’d put it in the island instead.
