About Lisa Fedon:
Lisa Fedon is an award-winning American sculptor with over 40 years experience. Originally inspired by Alexander Calder’s early work, Fedon began her career working in wire and mixed media teaching herself the properties of creating sculpture with line. Fedon’s intent was to simplify creating volume with as little material as possible. There is a recognition of fullness within the void of her sculptures. Welding opened up possibilities for functional sculpture and site-specific commissions leading to major works at The University of Scranton, Arlington Public Library and US Healthcare. Her show at the Allentown Art Museum, Allentown, PA / Life’s Journey - Steel Sculptures by Lisa Fedon, demonstrated her use of allegory to express a message that reflects her life. Having recently completed a 9-month artist residency in Florence, Italy, Lisa’s experience supported her direction towards a simplification of form, meticulous work and a reflection of the influences of space as related to the spiritual.
