As a woman-owned small business owner this is whats what’s on my mind today…👇

This morning on the way to school, my daughter told me that an older boy on the playground came up to her at the fence and said girls could not be President.

And that sentence felt heavy.

Because this past week she has been coming home so excited, sharing everything they’ve been learning about the Presidents. She tells me their names, what number they were, and quizzes me to see if I remember. She’s even asked to watch extra videos about them because she’s that interested.

She’s five years old… and already being told what she can’t be as a girl.

That stings.

While I know he’s just repeating something he’s heard, it was a powerful reminder of how much our words matter. The conversations we have. The jokes we laugh at. The way we talk about leadership. Our kids are always listening.

Girls can be President. Girls can be leaders. Girls can be business owners. Girls can win championships, earn gold medals, change communities, and shape the future.

As a woman building a business of my own, this hits close to home. I want my daughter — and every little girl — to grow up believing her dreams are wide open.

So we’ll keep celebrating her curiosity. We’ll keep watching the videos and learning all the names. And we’ll keep reminding her that if she wants to be President one day, she absolutely can.

Because no child’s dream should be quietly diminished on the playground before it’s even had the chance to grow.

And if there’s one thing I hope she learns from watching her mom, it’s this: there are no ceilings on what she’s capable of.
