Welcome to the Central Florida Woodworkers Guild

The purpose of our guild is to encourage the craft of woodworking by sharing our skills and knowledge in all aspects of woodworking. Woodworkers of all skill levels, including those new to woodworking, are valued and welcome. We are fortunate to have a deep and wide talent pool (e.g. joinery, scrolling, carving, turning, veneering, finishing, uphol

stery) with practitioners of hand tools and power tools alike. Our guild was founded in 1980 and is a collaborative group of mentors. Several times each year we have Open Shops where guild members open up their shops so other guild members can see how they are set up. A special benefit for guild members is an annual seminar presented by a renown woodworking authority. For more information, email us at [email protected].

Our next meeting will be this Thursday, Feb 8th, at Orlando Woodcraft. We start at 7:00 pm. This month's demonstration will be on Ebonizing Wood, How to Make Wood Black by George Poelker.
In this program we will explore various techniques to give wood a black appearance. Techniques such as stain, dye, chemical applications and shou sugi ban will be demonstrated and discussed. Of course, not to be missed, is our member's show and tell items as well.
