At this rate, we might need to start specializing in tree falls. 🌳🏠

Another day, another tree impact claim.

This one left a sizable hole in the roof, damaged decking, and a temporary tarp keeping the weather out while the homeowner works through the insurance claim process.

A few hours on the road to West Palm Beach today to reinspect a storm damage claim that the insurance company denied.

A denial doesn't necessarily mean the insurance company got it right. Sometimes it means the damage deserves a closer look.

We're not afraid to put in the miles, climb the roof, and do the work necessary to challenge a denial when the evidence supports it.

Her findings: “Yep. That’s damaged.”

Your insurance company is sending an engineer to inspect your home. What does that mean for your claim?

It doesn’t automatically mean the claim will be denied. It does mean the carrier wants a technical opinion about what caused the damage, when it occurred, or whether the proposed repairs are necessary. That report may carry significant weight when the carrier decides what to pay.

An engineering report is still an opinion. The inspection, evidence, testing, assumptions, and reasoning should support the conclusion.

That was the carrier’s initial offer. After we got involved, the insured recovered the full $10,000 water-damage limit—plus additional benefits available under the policy’s separate mold limit.

The details matter. So does understanding how the different coverages and limits within the policy work together.
