A bigger kitchen isn’t always the answer. Sometimes, it just needs a better plan.

This kitchen already had plenty of space — but the raised bar divided the room, the appliances broke up the layout, and all of the competing finishes made it feel much busier than it needed to.

So we rethought how the space actually worked.

We opened the kitchen to the rest of the room, created one large island, gave the appliances a more intentional home, and simplified the finishes.

The result? A kitchen that feels bigger, brighter, and much easier to live in — without adding more space.

A tiny sample can’t show you the whole story.

Veining, movement, color, and pattern can look completely different across a full slab - and those details matter once it’s installed across an entire kitchen.

That’s why seeing the actual slab can make such a difference before fabrication.

Would you put this countertop in your kitchen?!

A master bathroom that feels more like a private retreat.

Throwing it back to this client’s primary bath, which still takes our breath away every time we see it.

The vanity is the piece we keep coming back to. All Mouser Cabinetry featuring rift-cut oak in a soft driftwood stain, wide shaker doors with a flat panel so the grain stays the star, and a full stack of drawers on both ends where most vanities give you one cabinet and call it done. Black hardware against the warm wood, brass sconces on either side.

Behind it, the shower and the tub share one open wet room. No wall between them, which is what makes the room feel twice its footprint.

Luxury doesn’t always have to be loud. Sometimes it’s found in the details, the materials, and the way a space makes you feel.

Comment “RETREAT” and we’ll send you the full project details!

The wide shots get the likes, but the details are where the custom cabinetry really shows up.

The custom designed mantel detail on the hood. The flush mounted microwave steam oven. The molded baseboard molding on every island leg. The faux beaded inset panels on the sides of the island so that it perfectly matches the door nest to it. Stained walnut lining the glass cabinets makes all the glassware pop. Custom hood and beaded inset custom
cabinets from Mouser Cabinetry.

This is what makes the room feel finished and special when you walk into it🤍

The door style is the single biggest decision you’ll make on a kitchen, and most people spend the least time on it.

Shaker — the safest. Works in almost any house and won’t look dated in ten years.

Slab — flat front, no frame. Reads modern and makes a small kitchen feel calmer.

Inset and Beaded Inset — doors sit flush inside the frame instead of on top of it. It’s the most expensive of the four because the tolerances have to be near perfect, and it’s the one people notice without knowing why.

Glass front — not a whole kitchen, just few panels to bring in brightness and make the space pop. Best trick: line the inside in a contrasting wood!

These are just a few of the trending styles right now but there’s many more to choose from to fit what you’re looking for🤍

Save this one for inspo when you’re looking!

Same footprint. Completely different feel.

Sometimes the biggest transformation: rethinking how a space is used—not making it bigger

The before and after tells the story!

The original room had dark brown walls, a small corner shower with gold-framed glass, a garden tub, and a glass block window. Everything read heavy and dated.

We took the tub out entirely and used that space for a large walk-in shower with a built-in bench and a window that brings in real daylight. The vanity is a warm maple with a quartz top and two sinks, with arched lighted mirrors above. Soft sage on the walls, marble-look porcelain floor to ceiling, and a full-height linen cabinet for storage that didn’t exist before.

And the thing most people skip over is the huge full length tiles covering the whole wall that just take your breath away🤍

Some kitchens look better in motion!

Soft light on the tile, brass that’s warm instead of shiny, a hood that just sits there being the best thing in the room.
