Big heart Benefit Art Show for Homeless and At-risk Youth Friday February 13th - 6pm-9pm LB Skate at 3142 East 7th St., Long Beach, A youth living on the street is just not acceptable. It's a bad way to enter adulthood. A life in a neighborhood suggests a home, neighbors, and safety but these things we take for granted are just a dream if homeless.
To participate in the city's goal to eliminate homelessness, a benefit Mixed Media art show will be held on February 13th sponsored by Rose Park Neighborhood Association and hosted at LB Skate (E7th & Obispo). We are calling it the “Big heART” show. Twenty artists - including some who've been homeless - will exhibit their art, sculpture or photography. Artists exhibiting will be spotlighted via Instagram we encourage all to join in a very fun evening.
Here is a short Bio of one of the participating artists:
Rhett Johnson, is a Rose Park resident and professional artist. Rhett has been a part of many charity art shows all throughout Long Beach, and is supportive of local philanthropy. His unique work is built on characters each created with spray paint and markers in an adapted street style that is appealing by all ages.
