It was established nationally in 1920 and haas been for decades one of the most respected grassroots organizations in the country. Local elections - for City Council, School Boards, Township offices - are Tuesday, April 1st!
Early voting is happening now. In Jackson County you may vote early at these places:
Jackson County Courthouse 1001 Walnut St. in Murphysboro any business day between 8-4. You may also vote at the Courthouse on Saturday, March 29 from 8:00-12:00.
Carbondale Civic Center, March 17, 19, 21, 26, 27 and 28th from 9-3.
SIU Student Center March 24 and March 25 from 9-3.
Not registered? Have you moved? You may register to vote or change your address at any of these early voting locations. To do so, bring two pieces of identification. One of these must show your current address. This could be a lease, a bill received at your address, a bank statement, or, of course, a driver's license, state ID, etc.

Early voting and deadlines to consider this election season:
Early voting at the SIU Student Center: October 30, 31 and November 1, 10am-5pm
Deadline to request mail-in ballot by mail: October 31
Deadline to request mail-in ballot in person: November 4
And of course Election Day: November 5
Like we say in the LWV, democracy is NOT a spectator sport. 🇺🇸
