Lessons were learned today that are too important not to share….
1. Stop if you can. You never know how important your presence is to someone in need.
2. PSA: Make sure you check your fire extinguishers… for yourself AND others.
3. Always check for propane tanks. When you realize they’re attached and can’t get them off, don’t wait - move your vehicle FAR AWAY.
We had the privilege of helping 2 ladies in an impossible situation. While our fire extinguisher wasn’t enough to keep this from happening, it was just enough for them to buy some time to grab what they could out of their camper before we had to make the decision to get to safety.
The middle of NOWHERE Florida.
It took first responders 15 minutes to get there after 911 was able locate our position via GPS. There wasn’t much we could do, but we stayed. And that was enough.
Kody, in his beautiful way of always making people laugh (especially in difficult situations) may or may not have asked for hotdogs and marshmallows since we were obviously having an impromptu bonfire.
