Not my words, but from a fellow furniture refinisher. Very well written and so true…
Do you do your own plumbing? How about HVAC repairs? Carpentry work? House painting? Landscaping? Roof repair? Me neither. When you have your furniture restored, you are dealing with a professional who has gained experience and knowledge through years of hard work just like your plumber, roofer, A/C repair person, landscaper, or house painter. You don’t mind paying those people for their expertise, right? Well, we are no different; what we do is built on years of learning, and is done in a safe and well equipped work environment. And that costs money. You thought it would cost less? Well, have you bought gas lately? Or anything else for that matter. Prices are creeping up, still. We can’t work at last year’s rates. Of course, you can always try to do it yourself, but you’d be shocked how much just a set of basic tools will cost you. Have a blessed day!
