A cabinet job taking shape. All the measurements, ideas, request for a certain look, starting to flow, and become reality. The old porch posts are going to blend right into the look.

Project for the day, take some old home place porch post and transform them into decorative legs for a large new island bar with a overhang for bar stools.
I think it's going to work.

Making custom hand ground moulder knives out of scrap metal, to make the cabinet door trim , to build the doors. The trim is only 5/8" wide by 3/8" thick. It took some finessing to get the knives cutting properly . Now that they are cutting I need to pull them out and flame harden the knives.

Finally in the spray room.
Dialing in the stain color, it's closer than I thought the color would be, ended up using one quart of wheat stain, brown stain, two caps of green dye, four small cups of black dye that's got me real close in trying to overcome the red oak tones. I think to bring the color closer to the large sample on the bottom right it needs shading sparingly with more green and finished off with some brown black shading between clear coats. Shooting for the mid to darker tones.
That's got me set good for Monday morning.

Making some matching cabinet doors.
I started with some rough plywood for a distressed look, something that would catch stain and glaze well. Then started working up to final multiple colors, for sure that's not one single color, like slowly sneaking up on the look with some super light complete and spotty incomplete coats, cause if I over shoot it means I start over. About 11 different colors going on to get the look this good.
I'm sure the maker didn't do it this way but if have in idea what colors you need, you have to start somewhere.
