Our Timber Cove, home owner’s meeting... to us, Dorothy and Walt, there was a bit of nostalgia. In past years, events have filled the TC Club House. In the past the group arranged for Magic Shows, trained bird shows, they still organize our pleasant July fourth ‘parade’, and we will have a ‘holiday’ dinner in December of 2021.
It is always a pleasure to see Catherine Marotta as the Master of Ceremonies. She is a pleasant looking lady, trim and energetic, and now walking freely without the aid of crutches. She is our efficient Vice President. The Bulanon family is forever a delight to see. Katherine takes care of entering our news into the Splinter monthly magazine, and Marcel takes the job of Treasurer and gave an efficient reporting of the group’s financial picture. They are a young, exceptionally attractive young family with two beautiful daughters, who quietly tended to themselves in the Club House game room. Once in the while, the smallest daughter would approach her Mother and whisper something in her ear. Katherine would nod, and she would go back.
We saw several of our old friends, Nancy came in and sat near us, we saw Noreen, we saw Marlys... and also several new members. The rule and common sense told us to wear masks, and that makes it hard to see people’s faces or hear their voices. Everything sounded muffled to my old ears. Someday this death threat of Covid 19 will go away.
