I spent over 8 hours working on my greenhouse yesterday and I am one tired puppy! Despite all the sweat, dirt and cactus prickers stuck in me, I am happy to have my greenhouse back in some sort of order. A lot of this will be going outside once I get some yard work done and then more plants from the house will come out here. The great migration has begun!! 😁

We have a big weekend coming up so come out and join us!

On Saturday we'll be back out at Sanford Farmers' Market from 8:30-12. We have officially changed our logo so we have a new banner, business cards and we'll even be sporting our new T-shirts so we hope you like it as much as we do! We'll be bringing cacti, succulents, snake plants, pothos, philodendrons and more for sale.

Then on Sunday we'll be at Static Line Brewing Co for a plant swap from 1-4! Want some new plants or planty stuff? Bring some plants, seeds, seedlings, pots, etc that you don't want or have too many of and swap them for something different. This is a true swap, no sales please. I'll be bringing some plants and planty things to kick it off. Come out and have a drink, exchange plants and relax!

Better late than never! Here's part two 'Meet the team' of Misfit Mutt Botanicals and Creations. This will highlight the critters that play a part in my business, some of which are helpful and some maybe not so much but just keep me on my toes. I hope you enjoy meeting them!

Meet Rembrandt. He thinks he's got everyone else in the house beat in the beauty department and he might be right! Rembrandt lives in a tank with two mystery snails that he likes to show off to. And while they tolerate his vanity most of the time, one of the snails needs a break occasionally and tries to escape. So far, I've managed to recover the snail from his own demise every time so fingers crossed that continues.

His favorite pastimes include being glamorous, eating from my hand, trying to get the attention of my dogs and laying in his plants. Evidently being that gorgeous is hard work! Rembrandt has been with me for about 6 months.

Ok, I am definitely a bit of a slacker when it comes to social media. So I've decided to attempt to do better and something fun with some behind the scenes segments. I will be periodically posting 'Meet the team' of Misfit Mutt Botanicals and Creations. This will highlight the critters that play a part in my business, some of which are helpful and some maybe not so much but just keep me on my toes. I hope you enjoy meeting them!

I grow all of my tropical plant props in fish tanks so no changing prop water and I get to enjoy watching my plants and fish thrive. Fish water, more importantly, their waste, is an excellent fertilizer in case you didn't know.

First up is Picasso. Don't let his beauty fool you, he can be ruthless and has been deemed head of security! Picasso lives in a large tank with guppies, corydoras and snails that are his servants. And yes, some bettas can live in community tanks with other fish given appropriate space, specific tank mates but it really depends on their personality.

His favorite pastimes include judging me and his tank mates, begging for food and head butting snails! Picasso and his minions have been with me for about a year and a half.
