🌼Furnishing Hope Spring Home Goods Drive Update 🌼

While our 2026 Home Goods Drive officially ended on May 4th, we’re still receiving an incredible flow of donations from our Captains, individual home goods donors, and Business and Congregation Partners. We don’t have a final tally just yet on what our Drive brought in, however, we wanted to update our community on the remarkable impact of their generosity. To date:

- We’ve already received more bath towels during this drive than we did in all of last year!

- We’ve collected 50 sheet sets so far, meaning 50 more children and adults will have clean comfortable bedding, and a better night’s sleep!

- We’ve gathered enough kitchen and dinnerware to fully equip over 25 families with essential cookware and dining items.

And that’s just the beginning! We’ve also received toiletries, lamps, curtains, small kitchen appliances, and so much more. Our volunteer team also continues to be hard at work. Sorters are carefully inventorying and organizing all incoming items, while our Chauffeurs are transporting donations to and from our office.

We are deeply grateful to all of you who have supported, and are still supporting, our 2026 Home Goods Drive. Your commitment is already making a meaningful difference in the lives of the families we serve.

In the face of challenging times, we’re taking inspiration from the powerful community of nonprofit organizations that are in Cambridge and beyond. We’re one of 157 nonprofits who received a grant this spring from Community Foundation. This funding will help us to continue providing Boston area families with the essential home goods and furniture they need as they work to rebuild their lives after homelessness. We are excited to share that we are hosting our 2026 Home Goods Drive from April 6th-May 4th!! Our Home Goods Drive is one of our most important events of the year to help us stock up on new and gently home goods.

We are looking for Captains to help us spread the word about our Home Goods Drive and collect donations from the community. Our Captains play an essential role in the success of our Drive by reaching out to 3 or more friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, or other connections to share our mission and request donations. Captains then collect donations from those who respond, serving as a temporary drop off point for their network, before dropping off all donations to our office in Harvard Square.

Help families in need stay warm during Boston’s winter storms! After families transitioning out of shelters move into their new homes, we provide them all the sheets and blankets they need to make sure them and their children stay warm and cozy throughout the winter. As the temperature drops we have an increased demand for Twin, Full, and Queen winter bedding sets (especially comforters and blankets!).

As we step into the new year, we’re taking a moment to reflect on everything we accomplished together in 2025. None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of our community.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated—your generosity helped us serve 146 families, distributing over 2,000 pieces of furniture and 16,500 home goods items. Because of you, more families have safe, comfortable homes!

We’d also like to give a special shoutout to our amazing referral agency partners. Your dedication and collaboration help us broaden our reach, and we are truly grateful for all that you do. Here’s to another year of compassion, partnership, and impact!

Happy New Year from Furnishing Hope! To kick off 2026, we put together an infographic to help guide our community donations. Here are the most important details:

- All home goods must be clean, tear-free, and in good working condition. We cannot accept items with stains, odors, or pet hair.

- Please clean your items before donating.

- For Home Goods: Please schedule a time to drop off your donations using the link in our bio or by emailing us at [email protected]. We are located in Harvard Square at 131 Mt Auburn St in Cambridge, MA. Our office hours are Monday - Thursday 9am - 5pm and Friday 10am - 4pm. Donations must be received in person and cannot be left outside the office!!

- For Furniture and Appliances: We do not accept furniture or appliances at our office in Harvard Square. All furniture donations must be dropped off in Acton, MA. If you have a donation of over 5 substantial furniture items, you may be eligible for pickup from our professional movers! Please use the link in our bio or email [email protected] to schedule a time to drop off your furniture donations or to request a furniture pick up.
