Hello, friends -

Happy Friday! We hope this finds you all surviving, thriving, and gearing up for a most relaxing Memorial Day weekend. While we can’t do much to control the wet weather on the horizon - or the gouging at the gas pump - we can offer up a little extra love.

How, you ask? Well, we will be closed today (Friday the 22nd) and tomorrow (Saturday the 23rd) for our own holiday excursion on the Cape. However, to get your motor running, and relieve some pressure on the purse, we are offering TWENTY PERCENT off all online sales from noon on Saturday until noon on Sunday. Just enter PROVINCETOWN at checkout, and savor the taste of victory. (More on Provincetown later…)

So, race on over to the website - and get those fingers working!

xo,

Italy, ca. 1970s or 1980s. A stylish cane and bamboo chest or sideboard by Italian designer Flam Sansoni for manufacturer Dal Vera. Featuring natural bamboo trim and woven cane panelling with blond wood interior. Includes four ample drawers and a large cabinet with an easily adjustable shelf. Recessed brass campaign pulls add visual interest to clean modernist lines and tonal materials. An exceptionally versatile piece - it would serve nicely as either a sideboard, a hallway console or even a dresser. Professionally refurbished and in excellent vintage condition, retaining warm age-appropriate patina.

Founded in the Veneto region of Italy in 1884, for nearly a century Dal Vera was known for producing extensive collections of finely crafted living and dining room furniture. During the peak of mid-century Italian modernism, Flam Sansoni served as principal designer for most of Dal Vera’s output throughout the 1950s to 1970s. Sansoni was integral in developing the company’s post-War aesthetic and characteristic use of materials, in the Bohemian Riviera style.

USA, ca. 1920s or 1930s. A lovely Arts & Crafts wrought iron and tile coffee table or plant stand. Features a sturdy, hand-forged iron frame with scrolling ornamentation and pad feet - finished in old black paint. The top is inset with decorative, hand-glazed earthenware tiles - each with an attractive floral motif. In excellent antique condition with appealing, age-appropriate wear.
Quite a charming piece - it would be fantastic in a living room, sunroom, or on a covered porch.

Denmark, ca. 1960s. A stylish bar cart by Poul Nørreklit for cabinetmaker E. Pedersen. Features three removable rosewood and white laminate serving trays supported by a chromed steel frame with matching casters. Tray surfaces are each set into a nicely beveled surround with finely crafted finger joints - making for a very chic combination of materials.
A versatile piece - perfect for entertaining or useful in a home office for supplies, paperwork, etc. We do think it’s especially well-suited to full-service Negronis, rolling from the living room to dining room, then out to the veranda for a second (or third) round. In overall very good vintage condition, with subtle, age-appropriate patina.

Dimensions: 29.5” wide x 18” deep x 24” high.

France, ca. 1967. An original offset lithographic poster by Marc Chagall (b.1887-1985) for The Metropolitan Opera’s 1967 production of Mozart’s “The Magic Flute”. Printed at the renowned Atelier Mourlot in Paris, by master printmaker and Chagall’s close collaborator, Charles Sorlier.
Professionally fitted with a new white lacquered wood frame, archival matting, and conservation glass. The print itself is in excellent vintage condition.
As part of the Metropolitan Opera’s 1966 reopening at The Lincoln Center, Chagall was commissioned to design both set and costume for the inaugural 1967 production of The Magic Flute (Die-Zauberflote). Chagall’s poster design references concepts in the now iconic, monumental murals hanging in the lobby of the Met Opera, painted as part of the same commission, debuted in 1966.

USA, ca. 1960s. A supremely comfortable and classically modern lounge chair with ottoman designed by Charles & Ray Eames for Herman Miller. Features Brazilian rosewood body with supple black leather upholstery. Cast aluminum swivel bases enhance functionality. Introduced in 1956, the Model 670 / 671 was inspired by the notion of a traditional English club chair - yet with a distinctively Eames twist. The use of rosewood was phased out beginning in the early 1990s, which makes this model even more desirable. Professionally refinished and conditioned. In excellent vintage condition.

Dimensions:

Chair: 33.5” wide x 35” deep x 31.5” high; 17” seat height.

Ottoman: 20.75” wide x 21.5” deep x 17” high.

USA, ca. 1950s. A scarce and stylish lounge chair designed by Arthur Umanoff. Manufactured by Shaver Howard and distributed by Raymor, it features a solid black iron frame with rush-wrapped back and slatted wood seat. Quite comfortable, this would make a versatile occasional or accent chair. We especially love its sculptural lines and unusual combination of materials. In overall very good vintage condition with pleasing surface patina.

Dimensions: 24.5” wide x 24” deep x 27.5” high; 15.5” seat height.
