What a transformation! This basement bar space went from unfinished to a warm, custom gathering spot featuring a handcrafted knotty alder bar-height table and matching stools.

From Rough Slabs to a One-of-a-Kind Dining Table 🌳➡️🪵

This is one of my favorite parts of building custom furniture — seeing what’s hiding inside a rough piece of walnut.

These bookmatched walnut slabs started out looking very different from the finished table. Through careful milling, sanding, matching the grain, and plenty of hands-on work, they were transformed into this beautiful live edge dining table.

The bookmatched grain creates a natural mirror image across the table, making this piece truly one of a kind.

This is what handmade furniture is all about — taking beautiful wood and turning it into something your family can enjoy for years to come.
