You can tell by the smiles that I’m a proud father in this moment. They say the race goes not always to the swift, but to the one who endures and remains focused to finish. There were times along this journey, where neither of us were sure when or how this day would come to fruition. Watching you grow through the trials and tribulations of not just being a college student, but an African-American Man in America was humbling at times. It’s one of those things that you had to experience first hand to understand that the world owes you nothing. You’ve always had the keys to the world right at your fingertips, as soon you decided that you wanted to unlock your full potential the world was put on notice. You are one of the most intelligent and talented young men I know, I am proud of you completing this chapter and looking forward to your next accomplishment. Cheers to you Michael, our 2022 Mississippi State Graduate, I love you!
