Waiting spaces rarely need every seat to perform the same job.

One person may need an individual chair. Another may need a nearby surface. A wider bench can give the plan more freedom in an open lobby.

Teknion’s Aegis collection carries one visual language across four configurations: a lounge chair, a lounge chair with a side table, a bench, and a bench with a bolster.

Designed by Michael Vanderbyl, the collection is intended for private offices, reception areas, and public lobbies. It is available with ebony or chrome frame finishes.

The collection gives designers several ways to answer different uses while keeping the room visually connected.

A headquarters has to support more than one type of work.

At MP Biomedical’s Irvine headquarters, departments needed spaces for focused tasks, shared work, private conversations, breaks, and flexible scheduling.

Across two levels, bluespace interiors planned and furnished private offices, open workstations, hoteling stations, phone rooms, amenity areas, a mothers’ room, and outdoor lounge settings.

The team also managed furniture sourcing, budgeting, logistics, and installation.

A conference chair may be used for a quick check-in, a long presentation, or several meetings in one day.

That makes movement a specification issue.

KI’s Kiaura Collection conference chair uses Cognetic Technology, which KI describes as a gravity-responsive system that allows three-dimensional movement and natural micro-adjustments while someone is seated.

Expansion creates a specific design problem: the new space has to support what comes next while still belonging to the workplace people already know.

For this Pasadena pharmaceutical organization, the newly acquired sixth-floor office needed to align with the existing seventh floor. bluespace interiors supported that goal through workplace planning, furniture specification, budget management, procurement, and installation coordination.

The team matched established standards where they remained useful and managed ongoing adjustments as the organization’s needs developed.
The result is a workplace that reads as one environment across both floors.

It may serve students, staff, visitors, and community members every day.

That level of use makes durability, maintenance, and repair part of the sustainability conversation.

Before approving a specification, ask:
• How will the furniture hold up under daily use?
• Can worn components be replaced?
• What cleaning and maintenance will it require?�
• Are material and environmental claims documented?�
• What happens when the space needs to change?

The lowest initial price does not always produce the lowest long-term cost.

A clear lifecycle review gives procurement teams a better basis for comparison.

A flexible classroom has to change without turning every transition into a furniture-moving project.

Borrego Springs Unified School District needed learning environments that could support different teaching methods, group sizes, and activities across the day.

bluespace interiors worked across classrooms, libraries, shared learning areas, and Career Technical Education spaces. Mobile classroom furniture supported shifts between instruction, group work, and independent study. Lounge seating and modular arrangements created more options in media centers and shared areas.

The team worked with KI and other manufacturing partners on furniture specification, procurement, and installation.

The result is a connected furniture program built around how each space is used day to day.
