Born in Buffalo, Bill attended Nichols School and graduated from Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, NH in 1955 where he was the captain of the ice hockey team. After a stint in the US Army, he returned to Buffalo to join SM Flickinger, Inc., the family food wholesaling and distribution company. Bill loved his home and meticulously cared for gardens. His sprawling ranch and property reflects his attention to detail. Fine furnishings include Hekman, Henredon, Kittinger, Calvins, Pennsylvania House, Cushman sofas, side tables, dining and bedroom sets, wall unit, desks, cobbler bench, ergonomic office chairs. Lionel trains, Oriental rugs, framed 19th century equestrian and fox hunt engravings and prints. Oil painting, pen and ink drawing by local artist Lawrence McIntyre, weather vanes, a collection of Steiff bears, Longaberger baskets, French horn bouillette lamp, book screen room divider, KitchenAid mixer and small appliances, Cutco knives, LeCreuset, McIntosh XRT-25 speakers and other electronics, silver, Spode china, cut glass, New Yorker books, O’Connells fine men’s clothing and so much more!
