🛞 Tire Fact for RV Owners! 🛞

The average lifespan of motorhome and trailer tires is about 7 years… at most!

👉 In reality, once your tires hit 6 years, it’s time to start thinking about replacing them—even if they still look good.

Why?
✔ Tires break down from age, UV exposure, and heat
✔ Cracks and dry rot can form without you noticing
✔ Blowouts can cause serious (and expensive) damage

🔍 How to Check Your Tire Date Code:

Look at the DOT number on the sidewall of your tire.

The first 2 digits = week of the year
👉 Example: 23 = June

The last 2 digits = year
👉 Example: 12 = 2012

✔ So a tire marked 2312 was manufactured in June 2012

👉 That tire is definitely overdue for replacement!

Don’t wait until you’re on the side of the road to find out your tires are too old.

⏰ Check your tire dates and stay ahead of it!

Your RV water heater works hard to keep your showers hot and your dishes clean—but without regular maintenance, it can lead to expensive repairs or even complete failure.

🔧 Simple maintenance can extend the life of your water heater and prevent problems down the road.

Here’s what should be checked regularly:

✔ Flush the tank to remove sediment buildup
✔ Inspect and replace the anode rod if needed
✔ Check for leaks or corrosion
✔ Clean the burner assembly (for propane units)
✔ Test the pressure relief valve
✔ Inspect electrical connections

Neglecting maintenance can lead to:

👉 Wheel bearings.

But here’s the thing…

If your bearings fail, you’re not just looking at a small repair — you could be looking at:

❌ A wheel coming off

🚐 DON’T Leave the Lot Without Checking This First…

Your camper walkthrough is your ONE chance to catch issues before your first trip. Don’t rush it!

Here’s what to look for 👇

🔥 Run Every Appliance
Turn on the furnace, AC, fridge (both electric & propane), water heater, and microwave. Make sure they fully cycle — not just power on.

💧 Check for Water Leaks
Run every faucet. Flush the toilet. Check under sinks. Turn on the water pump. Water damage is one of the most expensive RV repairs.

⚡ Test All Electrical
Check outlets (including GFCIs), lights, slides, and breaker panel. Run slides all the way in and out.

🏕 Inspect Seals & Exterior
Look at roof sealant, slide seals, awning operation, and compartment doors. A small seal issue now can turn into a big repair later.

🧰 Operate Everything That Moves
Steps, stabilizers, leveling system, windows, cabinet latches — if it moves, test it.
