Letter from the CEO
Dear Valued Partners,
As the novel coronavirus COVID-19 continues to spread globally and impact every aspect of our day-to-day lives, we are facing a truly unprecedented situation as an industry and as a country. There are going to be tough times ahead, but I want to assure you that Shift4 is here to help support you and our mutual customers through these challenges.
First, I want to assure you that we will continue providing reliable service and support. Shift4’s infrastructure includes multiple levels of redundancy, geographically-diverse backup systems and the ability to manage our operations remotely if needed. We also have an experienced leadership team that has helped guide the organization through various challenges in the past including the 2008 financial crisis. You can be confident in our ability to continue providing uninterrupted processing service as well as ongoing support for our partners and customers.
Additionally, we will be implementing some new programs to help ease the burden for our merchants. Effective immediately, Shift4 will be waiving the following fees for the next three months:
Online ordering fees
SkyTab mobile payment fees
SkyTab monthly data fees or overage charges
SkyTab hardware costs
Gift card fees
We hope that the above changes help our restaurant customers as they shift towards delivery and takeout operations. Additionally, we have established a hotline at 855-894-7995 specifically to help our customers set up online ordering or SkyTab mobile payment devices (for curbside takeout or delivery) in order to expedite this transition.
We have also created a web page at www.shift4.com/situation to serve as an informational resource for our customers and partners. This site will be updated regularly with any new updates as they become available. We are committed to keeping you informed as the situation develops, so in addition to this website we will be communicating additional news or updates via email as well.
Despite these circumstances, it is important to remember that the Shift4 Payments value proposition will continue to resonate with new and existing businesses now more than ever. Customers who adopt our end-to-end processing solution eliminate their reliance on third-party vendors who may not be as well prepared as Shift4. By removing these third-parties from the equation, merchants can reduce their number of critical dependencies. For example, we maintain our own terminal inventory and have a PCI-certified Key Injection Facility so we can continue to deploy new or replacement equipment as normal. More importantly, however, is that the Shift4 solution will save customers money.
Finally, we are currently considering a number of additional programs designed to provide further support to our partners and customers during these challenging times. We will provide more information about these initiatives as details become available.
Although this is clearly an unprecedented situation, the world will keep on turning and we will weather this storm together. As always, thank you for your continued business and partnership.
