The original pressure-treated wood had been painted — a decision that trapped moisture and led to premature rot. Instead of trying to patch it up or repaint again, the homeowner opted for a full upgrade to composite decking.

Here’s how I brought these 100-year-old arched doors back to life 🛠️

Swipe through to see the before shots, the failed previous repair I had to reverse, and the full process of rebuilding the arch and refinishing the storm + interior doors.

This wasn’t just a cosmetic job — it took precision, respect for the original craftsmanship, and a full structural rebuild to make things right again.

There’s something satisfying about restoring a piece that’s already lived a hundred years and knowing it’s now ready for another hundred more.

This antique built-in may have just needed “a little touch-up,” but we knew it deserved the full treatment. Years of wear left the surface dull, scratched, and discolored — but after a full strip, sand, and re-stain, the wood’s rich character is glowing again.

Project: Home Library Bookshelf

My clients have just embarked on the journey of a lifetime by purchasing their forever home! The husband is an absolute bookworm and has an incredible collection of books that he treasures dearly. They entrusted me with the task of constructing a magnificent bookshelf for their home librarythat is sure to take their breath away. The bookshelf is crafted from exquisite cherry wood, and spans an impressive 13ft x 17ft - it's an absolute masterpiece!
