This custom pizza peel was a birthday gift for a good friend of mine. I glued together strips of maple, cherry, and walnut to make the stripe pattern, then tapered the end using my belt sander. I finished up with some overall sanding and . I take full credit for the delicious pizza he made!

It’s always fun helping my friends on their different projects. Recently I spent the day with my friend Chris working on the roof of his new woodshop. Woodworking is an art, but carpentry is a science: if you mess up a cutting board, you can make a smaller cutting board, but if you mess up a roof rafter, you can’t make a smaller roof!

Sometimes I store larger pieces in my living room to keep them safe from extreme temperatures. Of course, my family jumped on the opportunity to have a puzzle-table during the Thanksgiving holiday. Even Biscuit and Dolly were in on the fun.
Despite being very-gently used for the occasional puzzle, this table IS for sale! Check out my website (linked in my bio) for more examples of my work, and feel free to DM me for more info. Woodchuck American Crafts is here for all your puzzle-table needs.

This beautiful canvas print was a birthday gift for my daughter, but I couldn’t find the right size frame for it anywhere— so I made one myself! Although it was my first time making a picture frame, I’m proud of how it turned out. The toughest part by far was cutting the right groove depth on the back so the portrait would fit perfectly inside. To finish, I used furniture finish to protect the black walnut and give it a nice shine. Shoutout to for making the beautiful artwork of our cat, Dolly! My daughter said the frame was “purr-fect”🐈

Feeling blessed that this is my morning “commute” (the shop is in my front yard). The leaves are peaking in Brevard this week, and these photos don’t do them justice!

It’s pretty awesome that my friend Frank of can take a tree and single-handedly turn it into a beautiful piece of furniture…well, almost single-handedly 😁 Cutting these ambrosia maple slabs was definitely a two-person job!
To cut the slabs, we used the biggest Alaskan Sawmill we had. The trees were so thick, each cut took 15 minutes. Eventually we hit a nail in the wood and decided to switch to the bandsaw mill for the next tree. It was well worth it: this striking ambrosia maple had some of the most beautiful color and curl either of us had ever seen.
If you aren’t already, go follow to see what gorgeous pieces he makes out of slabs like this!

to July when I built this black walnut TV-stand for my daughter’s new apartment. I posted a reel showing some of the crafting process back in July, so go check that out if you haven’t. Here’s how it looks in her new place!

Delivery day: the first time a client sees the finished product in their home. It’s nerve wracking for sure, but the repeat clients who commissioned this walnut dining table were awesome to work with— and thankfully, they loved the piece!
Big thanks to my friend Chris for helping with the delivery, and to my amazing clients.

Looking for some home-office inspiration? I custom-built this live-edge desk for a client out in Mill's River, and it looks absolutely amazing in their new workspace!
While it's awesome when clients can come to my shop and hand-pick the wood they want to use for their project, time and busy schedules don't always allow that. I'm so grateful that these clients put their trust in me to pick the perfect slab for their desk (and big thanks to my good friend for helping me choose!) When I first saw that giant ambrosia maple slab, I knew it would be perfect for this project, with its smooth grains and gentle natural edge adding so much character to the piece. The next steps were to get it flat, get it smooth, apply Rubio Monocoat, and add the finishing touches before setting it up in my client's home.

My best friend recently retired from the Marine Corps after 30 years of service. To celebrate, I made him this ambrosia maple and epoxy river bar top, custom-fit to his new home. I was honored to have been able to make this piece specifically for him, and I absolutely love how it turned out.

Special thanks to for his help and mentorship on this project, and to for his 30 years of service to our country. More details coming soon on the process of creating this beautiful bar top, so STAY TUNED. Happy retirement, !
