BrattleBoosters

BrattleBoosters BRATTLEBOOSTERS believes in the strength of the Brattleboro community, and shares positive vibes! Civil discourse is the key to public engagement.

I've been a resident of Brattleboro since 2007, and in Windham county since 2001. In the thirteen years I've had the pleasure of calling Brattleboro home, I've come to love this town - its community, its vibrancy, and yes even its faults. Please support me, if you will, in trying to serve and bring some new ideas and a younger perspective - one that balances the desire to tap into the energy that

this town has to offer with the need to make Brattleboro affordable to all of its residents. I'm not a fan of echo chambers, whether they come from a left or right perspective. On a town level, cooperation is a must to get things done. I will strive to find common ground to continue to move the town into new and positive directions.

There’s currently a spreading wildfire off of Old Ferry Road - a good reminder for why there’s a burn ban right now! Stay safe Brattleboro Fire Department.
(3:05 pm Tuesday 4/14)

Due to current weather conditions and an elevated risk of wildfires, a burn ban is now in effect for the Town of Brattleboro until further notice. Relative humidity is expected to remain low, with no measurable precipitation in the forecast for the coming days. These conditions create a high wildfire risk, where even a small spark could ignite a fast-moving, dangerous fire.

➡️ Effective immediately, all outdoor burning is prohibited, including:
• Brush piles
• Campfires
• Burn barrels

➡️ Cooking fires: Cooking fires are permitted only when contained in a protected container measuring less than 36 inches in diameter. Cooking fires must be continuously attended while in use. After the fire is extinguished, it needs to be fully wet down immediately after use to ensure it is completely out.

This precautionary measure is necessary to protect our community, natural resources, and emergency responders. We appreciate the public’s cooperation in keeping Brattleboro safe. If you see smoke, fire, or signs of an uncontrolled burn, call 911 immediately.

Kudos to the creative box office display that’s appeared at our Latchis Theatre!
And what a classic film for Valentine’s Day, huh? It’s been described as a “perfect film for people who hate love stories” 🤣
Do you have any “anti-Valentines” favorite films?
