Just have to do a little bit of a praise post for the day. I love to build anything and everything, however it's the finishing that really has been my nemesis. No matter what I do, I can never get the urethane to lay down smooth and I'm always spending hours on end with steel wool to get a smooth finish on customer products. Well, last week I bought a new "toy" or, investment for my shop, if you will. Broke down and got an electric spray gun just to give it a shot and hope that it could make me enjoy finishing. Well, it's safe to say it worked!! These miniature picnic tables were sprayed last night and I finally made it home from work this evening to look them over and yeah, I'm impressed! I can't wait to use this thing on larger projects!!!

I made this board for my wife a little over a year ago for Christmas. We've kind of neglected it, and by we I mean me. Should've taken better care to keep it oiled and waxed. However, after just a little bit of sand paper to knock some of the deep scars out of her and a nice application of Walrus Oil, shes back to tip top shape! I'm a firm believer in the Walrus oil! If you have a cutting board that's looking old and weathered, order some to throw on your board! You wont regret it!

Since the last board I made for her got messed up...and shes been waiting for a few months now on a replacement... I decided to step out on a limb and try something new that has always fascinated me. I made this walnut cutting board with a cherry inlay. To say I was thrilled with the results is an understatement! I'm blown away with how well it turned out. Hopefully this one will last her a lot longer!!

Looks to me like it's all buttoned up and finally sitting in its home! Not too bad of a build, really. Just time consumi...

Looks to me like it's all buttoned up and finally sitting in its home! Not too bad of a build, really. Just time consuming and of course material consuming as always. But, I must say that it goes well with the other 3 cedar pieces in the living room.

Been a bit busy in the shop doing other work while my CNC has been down. The parts for it arrived earlier this week but of course I had to finish this up before jumping back to CNC work. This beast is 7ft tall, 4ft wide, and 1ft deep, should make for a nice bookshelf in our living room!

Finally...yes FINALLY getting around to gathering names for the cutting board drawing. I greatly apologize for it taking so darn long to get it going. Between the whole house being sick for the month of November and crunch time on orders all of December, I am finally getting around to it. I have gone through the list of ALL of the folks that followed the directions on that post and have put them into a word document to make it easier. I put them in no particular order and I numbered each one as I entered it. I am planning on making it easier and just use random.org to generate a random number to determine the winner. Hopefully everyone that has entered is okay with that and I will be going live with a video probably somewhere in the next 20-30 minutes. So shooting for 5:30EST for the live feed.
