Well...here we are! December 29th...the end of an era for Second Time Around antiques. This was my dream to own an antique store, and luckily for me my husband found that he enjoyed restoring antique furniture. We had a good run, we had wonderful customers and a lot became friends. We wanted to thank each and every one of you that stopped in to wish us well and say goodbye. You truly made us feel like we had touched your hearts, and you have touched us. I can only hope that I can find a way to interact with people the way that I enjoyed my experiences behind the counter here in my store. We wish all of you a Happy New year and we will keep you all posted as to how our lives will be changing for the better...and keep in touch. If we make it to Tennessee, you are welcome to stop in and say hello. Happy Trails to you....until we meet again!!! Mark & Marvett Minnick❤️😃

We have one month left before we close our store at the end of December. Road Construction is over on Interstate 55....at least for this year!!! Things are moving out fast...if you had your eye on something, you had better come back in and see if it is still here. Thank you so much to everyone that has stopped in to wish us well and to say goodbye. It is bittersweet...we have created this from scratch with no actual business experience except the love of antique furniture, wood grain, and craftsmanship. It is not easy to be successful in a business, but we made it. We had our rounds of road construction three times, fluctuating antique market, Sept 11th, the market crash when people were losing their homes, and we still made it. It hurts that no one could benefit from the reputation that we had for our business......it is like putting a family member to rest. I am sure that closer to Christmas we may be more emotional about our decision, but life awaits us...and we deserve a vacation to someplace warm. Thank you to everyone that has been our customers, and those that became friends. We are still bringing some things in that you have not seen as we get to the corners of this building.....hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and we wish you all a Very Merry Christmas! Mark & Marvett Minnick

It is with great anxiety, joy, and sadness that we announce we will be closing our business at the end of 2019. God has been in complete control of our situation. We have had our building for sale for a year, and some of you know that early this year Mark's father became ill and was placed in hospice. Mark had to go to Missouri and take care of his Father along with others until George passed in June. If we had sold this building while we were in the middle of our grief, I don't know if we would have been able to make it. We have been waiting in the hallway waiting for God to open the next door for us, and HE has. We will be putting our home up for sale in the spring and we are southbound for warmer weather and less stress in Tennessee. WE have just placed banners on the building and are giving 30% & 50% off our merchandise for cash or check purchases. 5% less discount if paying with debit/credit. We also have different hours we will be open 7 days Monday-Sat 10-5 Sunday 11-4:30. What we do not sell these last few months will go to an auction or consigned to another antique store in January. Stop in and say goodbye and perhaps get a real bargain. We have thoroughly enjoyed the people that we have met and those that have become friends. I even believe that I have met angels through the years that taught me lessons that changed my life for the better. We hope to have more freedom now and get to enjoy more of our lives. Those of you that bought furniture that was restored by Mark, he put his heart and soul into everything that he did...hope you always love what you bought from us. Happy Trails to you....until we meet again!!!!!
