We’ve shared this graphic for a few years, but after a conversation I had during an in-home measure yesterday, I felt it finally deserved some real context.

The clients had previously visited a local “box store” for a cabinetry estimate, where they were told their cabinets were not “standard” and would require fully custom cabinetry — along with a price tag much higher than they were expecting. On top of that, they were also dealing with significant storm damage repairs and trying to stay within a realistic budget.

During our visit, we talked through some semi-custom cabinetry options along with a few thoughtful design modifications. As we reviewed the numbers, they were genuinely surprised by how achievable the project could be.

The wife said something that really stuck with me:
“We were intimidated by a cabinet design place because we thought custom would be so much more expensive.”

That conversation perfectly reflects who we are and how we work.

We are not a high-pressure, full-custom showroom. We work with you — your style, your needs, and your budget — to create a space you’ll love at a price you feel comfortable with. Sometimes that means custom solutions, and sometimes it means finding smart alternatives that give you the same beautiful result without unnecessary cost.

We are blessed and safe, but so many of our clients and friends are not! Please pray for those suffering loss and devastation this morning. If you can help, here is tangible way to help. 🙏

Many families in Aroma Park and across Kankakee County experienced devastating damage after tonight’s tornado. Some families have lost their homes and their belongings, and their lives have been turned upside down in the wake of this storm.

Shine.FM is thankful our staff and studio are safe, but we want to help our neighbors who are hurting, so we are collecting supplies to deliver to local relief centers.
