Some curly maple tray parts in the works. For mitered frames/boxes I’ve found it’s easier to glue up two sides first, especially if there’s an inset panel. Makes the final glue up easier dealing with two vs four joints at the same time. And you can focus on getting tight miters that first glue up.

Finished up these custom bookshelves for a home office in Melrose. Lots of book storage added to a little office space that also serves as a hallway to the third floor. This was for an old friend from college (Tufts Mountain Club!) who went on to become a professor there.

Another piece I built last year, a custom maple wardrobe designed to add much-needed storage for this triple-decker condo in Jamaica Plain. Built with a white laminate case and maple slab doors and drawers. Beautiful grain on these plywood sheets, including my favorite wabi-sabi detail of a little bark inclusion that repeats across the face.

Doing some social media catch-up from last year. This was a custom build for a lovely home by my alma mater Tufts in Somerville. Custom white oak media cabinet and floating shelves to surround the existing TV, and a few steps away custom shaker cabinets for a tight laundry room. The laundry cabinets were designed with removable back panels for maintenance access to the laundry plumbing and dryer vent. Always good to try to make the next persons job a little easier.

Recently finished this custom bar cabinet in Beacon Hill. Designed to match the existing kitchen and topped with a marble offcut from the nearby fireplace surround. I spent way too much time nailing down the details on all of the drawer inserts, especially the custom shaped martini glass holders. But the result is alot of function packed into a 12” deep cabinet; the perfect spot to make a cocktail.
