Beautiful moon tonight in the Texas sky. Take a second and step out and look.

This lunar event is called the harvest moon because it is close to the fall equinox, a time when farmers often harvest their crops, NASA said.

In 2022, September's full moon is closest to the autumnal equinox, which falls on September 22, so it's called the harvest moon, according to The Old Farmer's Almanac. When October's full moon is closer to the equinox, it gets the name harvest moon, and September's is called the corn moon.

Sunset in Canyon Texas tonight. Texas sky's can be so beautiful!

A freight train, cargo train, or goods train is a group of freight cars (US) or goods wagons (International Union of Railways) hauled by one or more locomotives on a railway, transporting cargo all or some of the way between the shipper and the intended destination as part of the logistics chain. Trains may haul bulk material, intermodal containers, general freight or specialized freight in purpose-designed cars.[1] Rail freight practices and economics vary by country and region.

Located off of Pioneer Road there is a road built by miners at the end of the 19th century, which is now Forest Road 484. This road follows Pioneer Creek and will take you past the ruins of many old mines.

We wake up daily with roads ahead of us that we must navigate. Some are beautiful, some are hard, and some are "I just hope I can make it" roads. With family, friends, myself, ect, facing daily roads we may and may not of planned for.......it can get hard. We can get tired. We may need some help. Have you helped anybody today? Has someone helped you? Either way I am praying for all those on unknown roads. May the destination be wonderful.

Absolutely love these majestic animals seen often between Red River and Questa New Mexico.
The bighorn sheep (Ovis canadensis)[6] is a species of sheep native to North America.[7] It is named for its large horns. A pair of horns might weigh up to 14 kg (30 lb);[8] the sheep typically weigh up to 143 kg (315 lb).[9] Recent genetic testing indicates three distinct subspecies of Ovis canadensis, one of which is endangered: O. c. sierrae. Sheep originally crossed to North America over the Bering Land Bridge from Siberia; the population in North America peaked in the millions, and the bighorn sheep entered into the mythology of Native Americans. By 1900, the population had crashed to several thousand, due to diseases introduced through European livestock and overhunting.[10]

Outside Red River New Mexico is Wheeler peak. At the "base" or trail head to this majestic peak you can get a fabulous look at the Milky Way.
Prior to the arrival of European-Americans, the area now occupied by Red River was used as a summer hunting ground by the Jicarilla Apache and Utes, who hunted big horn sheep, mule deer, elk, Mountain cottontail, and mallards, amongst other species.

The town of Red River had its beginnings late in the 19th century, when miners from nearby Elizabethtown in the Moreno Valley were drawn in by gold strikes in the area and trappers sought game. It was named after the perennial stream, Red River, that flows through the town, coming from the northern slopes of Wheeler Peak. By 1895, Red River was a booming mining camp, with gold, silver and copper in some abundance, and a population estimated at three thousand. Mining hit its peak in 1897, and by 1905 the mining and the population dwindled but the town survived, gaining a reputation as a great getaway from hot weather and as a trout fishing paradise. The last serious mining efforts extended until 1931. By that time tourism had become the principal economic livelihood.[3]

In 2019, the Christmas tree displayed at the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C. was harvested in Red River.[4]

Sunrise (or sunup) is the moment when the upper rim of the Sun appears on the horizon in the morning. The term can also refer to the entire process of the solar disk crossing the horizon and its accompanying atmospheric effects.

Borger/Texas has some of the most stunning sunrise.

Taken northwest of Lake Meredith Fritch Texas

Some evening's I just drive and enjoy all the beautiful things Texas landscape have to offer. You can see these just about everywhere you turn. Every once in awhile one catches your eye.

The power of the wind is captured by the windmill and harnessed in two steps. Each step is easy to identify by simply observing a windmill in action.

First, notice how the fan turns. A windmill captures the energy of the wind with the large, circular fan, or "wheel", located at the top of the tower. When the wind blows, the fan rotates. This turning motion is so commonplace that it's easily taken for granted. But don't. This is where the free energy of the wind is captured.

Second, look just below the turning wheel and notice a long rod moving up and down. This "sucker rod", is powered by the windmill's motor. This windmill motor is a unique set of mechanical gears that converts the rotary motion of the wheel into a reciprocating (up and down) motion that powers the cylinder pump located deep underground.
