Why We Chose to Introduce Hallagan Fine Furniture

For years, our clients have asked us the same question:

“You’re the upholsterers we trust — where should we go when a piece isn’t worth reupholstering?”

Until now, we didn’t have an answer we truly believed in.

Earlier in our history, we did offer new furniture in our showroom. By the early 2010s, those manufacturers were no longer in business, and we made a deliberate decision to step away rather than replace them with something we couldn’t fully stand behind.

We waited.

That answer came after a drive upstate to the Hallagan factory, where we met Walt and Steve Hallagan and spent time on the factory floor of a company that has been building furniture in the same New York location since 1913, now into its fourth generation.

What we saw felt immediately familiar.

Furniture built the way we believe it should be built:
• Built one piece at a time — not mass produced
• Engineered hardwood frames designed for longevity
• Custom seating depth and proportions you can actually feel
• Made in New York, by people who value construction as much as comfort

Seating depth, in particular, matters.
It’s one of the first things lost in mass-market furniture — and one of the biggest differences between something that photographs well and something that feels right every day.

This isn’t about competing with big-box furniture.
