First work week of 2026 kicks off tomorrow, and I can’t wait to get back in the shop and on job sites doing what we love. There’s nothing like the excitement of new projects, new clients, and another year of turning kitchens into spaces families truly love living in.

There’s a whole life lesson in my New Year’s Day experience!

I washed all the big kids’ clothes and got our guy packed and ready to fly back to Germany, then I cooked our traditional New Year’s supper.

Right as I was about to serve it… I dropped the pot of turnip greens!

Last year I would’ve spiraled.
I would’ve cried about washing clothes on New Year’s Day, because , superstitions and all! Then dropping and wasting my trnip greens…… LAWD UH MIGHTY!!!!

BUTTTTT, my Nana used to say,

“Don’t you dare speak that into existence.”

Then she’d ask, “Do you know how the devil knows how to get to us?”

She’d always answer before we had time to respond,

‘Because we tell him, out loud, with our big mouths!’

The devil can’t hear our hearts like God can, but when we speak negativity, we hand him the playbook.

So, in 2026, I’m choosing faith over frustration.
I’m speaking life, peace, and God’s promises! Even when the greens hit the floor.
My mouth will agree with Heaven, not circumstances!

It looks like Santa sent out a lot of extra sleighs this year. 🎅
Not for toys or bikes… but for boots.
Boots requested by military moms, dads, wives, and children… each pair representing someone they love who’s serving far from home.

Tonight, our prayers are lifted especially high for the troops traveling home for safe flights, clear roads, calm seas, and joyful reunions. And for those who won’t make it home this Christmas, we send gratitude deeper than words. Thank you for sacrificing time with your families so ours can celebrate in freedom.
To every service member standing watch while the rest of the world sleeps, unwraps gifts, and gathers around the table… you are seen, you are appreciated, and you are prayed over.
