Hillside Woodworking and Art LLC

Hillside Woodworking and Art LLC Quality heirloom woodworking and fine art I started woodworking several years ago when I had the idea to make frames for my paintings.

So…my husband patiently taught me little by little the art of fine furniture making. I so enjoy making furniture, even the smell of the wood being cut is wonderful! Woodworking gets in your blood once you start learning how. Compared to most woodworkers I am very reasonably priced. Let me know if you are interested in a piece that would surely add beauty to your home!

One of the focal points of this dresser is the turned legs. The 1st collage is of the steps of making them. Once I turned them, I screwed a piece of wood to the square parts I left unturned and ran them through the table saw with a stacked dado set a few times to create a 90Β° inside corner, then finished the bottom by hand with a chisel. The second collage is where everything is at currently. I have 2 coats of primer on the dresser carcass (which will have white paint and gray stain) and I got the dovetailed drawer boxes made. Tomorrow I will sand them, fit them, and put finish on them. :)

How I "carved" the seats for the chairs. I took out most of the material with a dado blade setup on the table saw with a small 1/4" thick piece of wood carpet taped to the center of the front of the seat so it was angled. Make sure to mark a stop line on your fence. Then used a 60 grit flap wheel on the grinder to blend everything out. (1st video is of starting that process) Continued to shape with all the grits of sandpaper with my orbital sander and routed a round over on all edges. Last video is all of the seats done. 😊
