Orchard Hill Home

Orchard Hill Home Warm your home. Spare landfills. Save money. OHH is a labor of love by Kathleen Shea Mistretta. And made to last for generations. What a WASTE! Hope to see you soon!

The notion of once-loved, once-beautiful, discarded old wood furniture being smashed to landfill splinters is appalling. Most of those pieces were made with great pride and care in small US factories of good, strong, warm, solid wood. Consider the thousands of gallons of fuel burned to pick up, transport, dump, crush and bulldoze all that great stuff – a horrendous, polluting waste. Especially whe

n, with just a little TLC, those pieces could be good as new – and most times better – than an expensive cheaply-made replacement that’s just consumed YET MORE energy being shipped in a container from China! I don’t mean to get political here – this is meant to be a peaceful furniture blog – but aghhh! Let’s at least TRY to save the planet! And so I now rescue, rehab and sell affordable furniture that nobody wants today because of a little “personality”… stains, scratches, splits, dents, wobbly legs. Orchard Hill to the Rescue!
