From a young age, I've always felt the need to carve out whatever was hiding underneath the surface of any scrap wood I could get my hands on. The world is a beautiful place, and it's more beautiful the deeper you look. Everything has a story to tell, but it's often hidden inside. I'm about letting that story out, letting the things I work with display their inner beauty and the intricate stories

that God has woven into them. My inspirations are my beautiful wife, Cherie' Noel, my lovely daughter, Scarlet Inez, and the deluge of majesty that is Creation.

2. Robust Hardware
3. Immoveable Kicker
4. Sufficient Number of Stringers
5. Sealing Endgrain

Gotta have em, or your stairs will fail just as quickly as the ones on everyone else's decks, that is to say, way too fast.

Here's our shop rigged method for getting old piers out of the ground so that we could replace them. We didn't have the room or the money to get some big equipment back here, but ingenuity works just as well if not better sometimes. (My back still would have preferred the machinery though).
