As KC Bee Lady has continued to grow over the years, Iβve realized I need to make some changes to communication in order to keep the business sustainable for both my customers and my family.
I also want to acknowledge that this is partly my own doing. As someone who naturally wants to help everyone and always be available, I allowed communication to become very open-ended with calls, texts, messages, and ongoing one-on-one troubleshooting. While it always came from a genuine place of wanting people to succeed, it has reached a point where it is no longer sustainable for me or my family.
I also recognize that I unintentionally created a situation where many customers stopped utilizing public resources because they could simply ask me directly. In the long run, I believe that has actually done a disservice to both beekeepers and the bees themselves. Beekeeping requires continued learning, observation, research, and building confidence independently over time.
Please understand that workshops, classes, and educational materials are intended to provide customers with the tools and knowledge needed to continue learning on their own. Due to the volume of customers each season, ongoing one-on-one hive coaching, detailed hive reviews, and extensive troubleshooting are not included with the purchase of bees or equipment.
Going forward, customer communication will be handled through email only at [email protected]. Email is checked several times weekly, and due to the volume of inquiries during bee season, not all emails may receive a response.
I strongly encourage customers to utilize the website, FAQ section, online classes, books, and other educational resources when questions arise.
I truly appreciate everyone who has supported KC Bee Lady over the years, and I hope you understand these changes are being made so I can continue operating the business in a healthy and sustainable way long-term. π
