Check out this gorgeous transformation I wrapped up last month. Her cabinets were light wood and we went with a soft white on top and black on the bottom. New countertops to really make it pop and WOW! This is one of my favorite transformations yet. .

Guys I have been working 70-80 hours a week for the last few months and I am toast. Time for some R&R. I’ll be back at it November 1st with my next available appointment Thanksgiving week.

Wrapped this Kitchen today for some very amazing clients. I worked really hard on this oak kitchen and my clients really appreciated it and loved the work that was done. It tied together all the other changes they had made.

I did this kitchen last year, however my client was doing other updates and preparing to sell the house. They finally were able to relocate and put their home up. These were maple painted cotton white.

Finished up this vintage Oak claw foot table for my clients just in time for Thanksgiving. Went from outdated oak to a color called Dark Roast and painted the edging and legs in SW Cotton White. My clients were extremely happy with the results.

Just finished this beautiful cabinet makeover from Maple to SW White Flour with Chemcraft Aqua set in St. Pete Beach. This client split there project into three parts. In June I did the kitchen island, in August I did the kitchen cabinets and den built-ins, and in November I did the built-ins in the bedroom. This client was very pleased and I’ll actually be doing their guest bath after the new year.

What’s the difference between a house painter and a refinisher?

I wanted to share this article with you all for a few reasons but most importantly even if you don’t hire Re-Fab Finishes as your refinisher I still want you to be informed, educated, and happy with the end result for years to come.

I recently did an estimate for a potential client who scoffed at my pricing and informed me that my quote was by far out of 6 the most expensive. The reason I was outbid so drastically is because this client was taking bids from house painters not cabinet refinishers. I tried having a discussion with this potential client about why and informing them on the difference between a house painter doing their cabinets and a True professional refinisher doing their cabinets. I even sent them links to professional cabinet refinishing groups and articles to verify my information however this homeowner was only concerned with the cost and not that the person painting their cabinets knew what they were doing. This is a huge problem in the industry.

Please do your research before hiring a professional for any project and make sure you are hiring the correct professional for your specific job. If budget is a concern hiring an inexperienced person or house painter over a true professional refinisher is not the answer. In the end it will likely cost you more money. Most true professional cabinet refinishers will offer alternative options such as brushing and rolling boxes to help cut cost. There’s a huge difference between putting off the shelf paint meant for walls on your cabinets and using products only professionals can purchase that are meant to stand the test of time.
