Our sweet shop mascot Ahab passed away today ... With all the ladies who have loved him and taken care of him since he showed up on our porch there with him ... You know animals can teach us so many things ... This cat did that for me ... He had been obviously mistreated when he arrived at 11th Street Market ... One working eye ... Scars from the abuse before he found us ... Very wary at first ... He quickly became the cat with the best buffet in town always there in the morning to get the whip cream off my frozen coffee when I arrived .... This cat was so cool ... In spite of all the bad stuff he went through he was a happy cat ... Grateful for what we would do daily for him he reminded me how blessed I am ... Taught me lessons in overcoming my daily challenges and facing the day with eyes or even just one eye to see the possibilities that are in front of me ! He will be missed and the lessons will be remembered for a lifetime !
