Yes, I’m a perfectionist when it comes to what I do. I may or may not set your pup down off the table, look at them for two seconds and go, “Ummm… wait. Nope. Something needs to be changed.” 😂
But grooming is so much more than loving the craft and the art of it.
It’s knowing their body.
It’s remembering how something felt the last time they were here and noticing when something has changed.
It’s catching the little things and making sure their owner knows about them.
It’s learning each dog’s personality, their quirks, what makes them nervous, what makes them comfortable, and earning their trust over time.
And somewhere along the way, it becomes about so much more than the dogs, too.
I am beyond blessed with the clients I have. Y’all aren’t just people who walk in, drop off a dog, and walk back out the door. We know each other. We know each other’s stories. We celebrate the good things, hurt through the hard things, check on one another, and even pray for one another like family.
That is something I will never take for granted.
So while being voted 1st Place means more to me than I can put into words, what means even more is knowing who got me here.
