This beautiful, high-quality, outdoor Teak patio set was brought to us for restoration. If you purchased a new set of this quality today, you would spend a small fortune. We removed all of the old dark stained Teak Oil and years of outdoor exposure. The next step is to hand detail and apply our super secret, exclusive, proprietary, no-nonsense, amazing, long-wearing, tough, durable.......well you get it; a really good finish and just in time for Spring. A perfect example of restore and reuse. This historical piece came out of the State Capital. We were asked to restore and repurpose into a Wine Storage Cabinet. This piece required extensive work and turned out beautiful. While we were in the process of restoring the piece, we found some old documents hidden in the walls. We are thinking of calling Heraldo to see if he wants to do a TV special. We are ready for your items . Bring it on! Below are before and after photos.

At Furniture Archaeologists, we believe in reuse and restore instead of replacing. We live in a throwaway society where everything is disposable. When we restore an old desk or another item, we think of the history of the piece, the company or individual who created it. The time, the material and the energy required to make the item. We will save it and bring it back to its original beauty. There is no better way to respect and conserve our natural resources than to be good stewards of this beautiful world in which we live.

This last week was fantastic! We are working on several newly arrived items. One of the pieces is a beautiful desk originally from the state capital. The desk is constructed out of solid Cherry with a Walnut inlay. The desk has been stripped and is now ready for the restoration process and new finish. Photos to come. Bring in your items. New Aquisition

Ratigan-Schottler announces the recent acquisition of a long time antique stripping and refinishing company called Homestead Antiques. This company specialized in the complete restoration of antiques and other furniture items including a complete fabrication shop. They have an excellent reputation for their high-quality work and careful attention to detail. Homestead provided their services to many of the leading antique dealers in the midwest. We are changing the name to Furniture Archaeologists and will continue to serve all of the exisitng accounts along with adding many new services. More to come in the future.
