Adam, who you may recognize from his time here a few years ago, loves our customers so much that he came back for you!🥰

When he’s not carrying heavy furniture or offering excellent customer service, he keeps busy at seminary, cooking and studying other languages!🤓 He has a great yet unique sense of humor and if you’re lucky, you can hear him making jokes with words you don’t understand!😂

Then there’s Michael, who cut his teeth in the antique business back in the day at Back in Time Antiques. 🕰️ A talented carpenter, Michael is capable of repairing all furniture from our modern designs to the finest antiques. We honestly haven’t found anything he couldn’t fix, furniture or not!🛠️🗜️ When not busy keeping everything running smoothly here at the store, he can be found building, collecting, playing and just talking all things guitar!🎸 Having met so many people in the music industry, his stories are a treat to hear!

🏛️ THE STORY BEHIND THE STORE: PART 2

Our building has a story of its own! (We would love it if anyone had any pictures or stories they could share with us!)

Before you walked through the doors of Autry’s White River Furniture, this corner of downtown Batesville had already seen quite a bit of history.

The building at 129 East Main Street dates to around 1950.

But the building that stood here before it had an even longer story.

Over the years, the site was home to:

💊 Sam Allen Drug Store

🏥 Kennerly & Dorr Sanitarium

🎵 Shook Music Store

And eventually, it became home to a furniture store that has now been serving Batesville families for nearly four decades.

So the next time you walk through our doors, remember:

You’re not just shopping in a furniture store.

You’re shopping in a little piece of downtown Batesville history.

And we’re pretty proud of that. ❤️

But now, it’s business as usual, except that we still have numerous items that we’re still trying to clear out. So while our storewide sale is over, we still have many items marked way down.
