🪚 Beds I’ve Built Over the Years

I’ve been woodworking since high school and have built a lot of custom beds and bedroom furniture over the years. I only have photos from about the last 15 years, but these give a good idea of the kind of projects I’ve done.

From farmhouse and rustic bed frames to built-in bunk beds and custom headboards, each one was built to fit the space and the people who would be using it.

One of my favorites here is the fuchsia bed, where I used old reclaimed doors for the headboard and footboard. I’ve always enjoyed finding ways to give old materials new life — that’s really what Core Salvage is all about.

There’s something special about building furniture that becomes part of a home for years.

♻️ CORE SALVAGE

Some pieces aren’t just salvaged… they’re remembered.

These 13’ oars came off a rescued dinghy ⛵️
Salt, sun, miles of water — real history in the grain.

We pulled them from salvage, reshaped them, routed channels, hid the LED drivers inside custom boxes, and gave them a second life as architectural lighting.

And that surfboard?
That was the customer’s very first board.
Not a replica. Not a prop.
The actual board that started it all. 🌊

Now it hangs above the table — fins up, glass glowing — still telling stories, just in a different way.

From water to walls.
From utility to art.
From memory to centerpiece.

That’s Core Salvage.

CORE SALVAGE

This is what the process actually looks like.

Rough lumber on sawhorses.
Angles cut by hand.
Glue, clamps, mistakes, fixes.
Then stain, paint, and a final reveal.

Every piece in these photos started as ordinary boards and became something solid, functional, and built to outlast trends.

Chevron tops cut one board at a time.
Overbuilt bases because furniture should be used.
Imperfections left on purpose — that’s the story.

No factory.
No CNC.
No shortcuts.

Just reclaimed wood and honest work.
