Copeland Summer Camp Day 2 🌲🪵

Our second day of camp started back at the factory, where we continued our hands-on training. From the rough mill, to assembly, upholstery, and finishing, we got to experience a little bit of everything and gain an even deeper understanding of the craftsmanship that goes into each piece.

From there, we headed over to the Copeland factory outlet, where Tim Copeland gave us a presentation on the characteristics of wood. One of our biggest takeaways? Wood is alive! (in a sense) It’s constantly responding to changes in humidity, temperature, and sunlight which plays such an important role in how furniture is made and cared for.

We then dove into product training, taking a closer look at everything from extension tables and lift desks, to their new media cabinets. After spending the former part of the trip seeing the craftsmanship process, it was very neat to see so many of the finished pieces and truly understand the work that goes into each one!

A huge thank you to the entire Copeland team for hosting us at Summer Camp! We had an amazing time learning, getting hands-on, and getting to know the people behind the furniture!

Behind the Scenes from Copeland Summer Camp 🌲

Last week, we had the incredible opportunity to join Copeland Furniture for their annual Copeland Summer Camp! They hosted us for two amazing days at a beautiful lakeside hotel in Vermont where we got to tour their factory, do hands-on workshops, eat some great food and get to know the Copeland team!

To kick off the trip, Ben Copeland personally led us through the factory, giving us an up-close look at every step of the furniture making process. From the craftsmanship that goes into each piece to the thoughtful steps Copeland takes to make their manufacturing process as sustainable as possible, it was very interesting to see what happens behind the scenes.

After a company cookout outside and a quick break, it was time to get hands-on! We worked directly alongside their talented team members in different areas of the factory, getting to experience firsthand the skill and craftsmanship that goes into every piece of Copeland furniture. Many workers have been honing their techniques for a number of years!

It was an incredible first day, and we’re excited to share more from the trip! Stay tuned for Part 2. 👀
