Each piece or entire room we build ,is individually designed for one homeowner’s particular space, individual stylistic preference, and personal functional requirements. ted proportions of the entire wall. That wall coordinates with, and expands upon the themes of the entire room. We work closely with individual clients and/or other design professionals, to custom build the ideal cabinetry or furniture for each home we are invited into. We can precisely execute detailed designs by others, or tease a truly exceptional room out of a sketch on a dinner napkin. We work in new construction, additions, renovations, and historic restorations. We’ve enjoyed contributing our skills and woodwork to expansive estate homes, log cabins, and brick ranchers. We get excited about snug bungalows and ornate Victorians, as well as suburban homes and ski chalets. Thirty-plus years experience, from beach homes to urban row houses, confirms our belief that every size and style of home offers exciting opportunities for creative woodworking design. Jaeger & Ernst offers services throughout the East coast, and across the USA, including in Albemarle County, Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC, and other areas.

Details continue to drive the concerns of our craftsmen. We start with drawings of the objects we create. Often drawings come from architects or interior designers, but the final shop drawings always come from Jaeger & Ernst. Sometime's it's difficult to convey from just a drawing what a difference a craftsman's attention to detail may make in the everyday experience of the final object or product. Jaeger & Ernst cabinetmakers have an enviable record with our customers' satisfaction; the details always make the difference.

Walnut and Butternut, two woods from the same "tree" blended together for the best results. Over time these woods blend closer and closer together. Experience and years working with woods allows for discriminating choices in design. Designed for a sportsman in Charlottesville, VA this is a segment of fishing armoires, bench storage and a working gun cabinet. The deck in front of the doors flips open to provide a useable surface for cleaning and repairing of fi****ms. Drawers contain the care taking implements for the gun enthusiast. Feet, handles and k***s are ebony.

Designed and built in our shop last week, work for a custom desk:

A Shell inlay of Mother of Pearl in a Brass Frame, all set into a Heart Pine Desk.

Over time the shell inlay will become more prominent as the Heart Pine ages and darkens.

Here, the Brass is being darkened by our craftsman.
