A charming 19th-century French provincial nightstand in fruitwood, with a four-sided gallery top and a single drawer opening on its original brass k**b. Raised on square tapered legs with carved bracket detailing at each corner. The surface shows honest wormholing scattered across the top, consistent with age and typical of period French fruitwood — inactive and purely cosmetic. Warm old patina throughout, sound joinery, hand-cut drawer construction. A perfect small-scale bedside or lamp table with real age and character.

English Provincial Oak Chest of Drawers, Regency Period, circa 1820–1840

A well-proportioned English provincial oak chest in the two-over-three configuration, dating to the Regency or early Victorian period, circa 1820–1840. The case is constructed in oak with pine secondary wood throughout — a reliable marker of period British country furniture — and retains its original oval brass ring pulls with stamped sunburst detail, their patina consistent with age and use.

Hand-cut dovetail joinery is visible at the drawer corners, confirming period construction rather than later manufacture. The turned bun feet are original to the piece. The top presents well with good color and figure. The case sides show honest wear and finish loss consistent with approximately 180 years of use and should be considered part of the piece’s character and history. Offered as found, without restoration. One drawer hardware pull bar is missing.

American Federal Chest of Drawers — c. 1820–1850
A handsome example of early American case furniture, this four-drawer chest speaks quietly of the craftsmanship that defined the Federal and early Victorian periods.

Four graduated drawers are fitted with original — or period-appropriate — stamped brass k**bs bearing an octagonal rosette motif, their aged patina a testament to generations of use. Turned bulb feet in a contrasting darker wood anchor the form with understated elegance. The case corners are joined with hand-cut dovetails, the slight irregularity of each tail a signature of pre-industrial American joinery.

Surface wear is consistent with age and entirely appropriate to the period — this is a piece that has lived, and shows it beautifully.

A versatile antique that reads equally well in a traditional interior, a collected farmhouse setting, or as a grounding counterpoint in a more contemporary room.

Origin: American, c. 1820–1850
Primary wood: Oak or chestnut
Construction: Hand-cut dovetail joinery
Hardware: Stamped brass k**bs, octagonal rosette pattern
Feet: Turned bulb feet, darker wood
Drawers: Four, with lock escutcheons
Dimensions: 46″W x 20″D x 49″H
