In honor of today's anniversary of the 1946 release of "It's a Wonderful Life," what's your favorite holiday movie? For me, this is it. No contest. I saw it for the first time in bits and pieces and out of sequence, on a 12" black and white TV while driving from NJ to FL for a family Christmas vacation. As we headed south on I-95, I'd lose the signal and have to frantically turn the dial until I found it again on a different channel. I saw some scenes more than once and others not at all, somehow piecing the story line together in my 14 year old brain. And by the time the whole town showed up to help George Bailey, I was a blubbering mess in the back seat. "What are you watching back there," my mom asked? "I don't know but Clarence just got his wings," I said, wiping my eyes and blowing my nose.
