Pavo Real Furniture Handmade, custom distressed wood furniture in brilliant colors and unique designs.

Using a combination of new and reclaimed wood and metal, Jim Pfau creates pieces that are both rustic and polished. He selects wood for its character; then, after designing a piece, distresses each board by hand, using everything from the effects of Mother Nature to shotguns. Depending on the design, Jim will add rusted metal hardware and pieces of hand-cut trim or tin. His signature finishes are

a multi-step process that entail several coats and combinations of paint or stain to achieve the patina and depth of color that makes each piece so unique. Jim’s designs include trunks, storage and media cabinets, tables, and barn doors for multiple uses, and he works with customers to build commissioned pieces to their specifications. His workshop is located northwest of the Austin area, on a ranch outside Bertram, Texas, where cattle, horses, dogs, cats, and chickens routinely wander up to watch him at work.
