The difference between flipping for fun and flipping professionally is how much extra work and care you put into each piece. Where I used to just clean, paint and go, now I’m cleaning, sanding, repairing, priming, finding more things that need to be repaired, paint - oh no, how did I miss that ding?! - repair (again) sand, paint, seal. Little things that I could live with, scream out at me to be fixed. Currently I have 3 flips going, as each is in their own stage. I don’t have a workshop (yet!) so I have limited space to work. The warm days were great, I got to set up my paint tent outside which is wonderful!
Also, going from fun to pro, I look at each piece differently now. This has been a learning curve for me! I look at the piece and envision what I’d like to do - so far, I’ve changed my mind with each piece! (With the exception of the humidor) I’ve picked up pieces thinking “these will be easy flips!” and none of them have been. 🙄😂 I’m learning, I’m enjoying, and hopefully I’ll be selling.
