The atlas, considered one of the most beautiful celestial atlases ever created, was published during the Dutch Golden Age of cartography.
The charts illustrate the three major planetary systems of the time: the geocentric model of Ptolemy, the heliocentric model of Copernicus, and the geo-heliocentric model of Tycho Brahe.
The prints are hand colored and well preserved.
